Spicers Vineyards Estate is a luxuriously appointed estate set amongst rolling vineyards and native bushland just two hours’ drive from Sydney. Spicers Vineyards Estate now has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Grounds & Gardens Coordinator to join the team.

 

About the Opportunity

As our Grounds & Gardens Coordinator, you will be responsible for ensuring Spicers Vineyards Estate is maintained in good order and to the highest quality standard that Spicers’ properties are renowned for. Duties will range from managing the upkeep of the property’s lawns, gardens and general outdoor areas and facilities, as well as the day to day maintenance tasks inside and outside of the estate. This role is suited to a landscaping professional who also has the initiative to assess general repair issues and work with suppliers to maintain the property to a high standard.

 

To be successful in this role you will bring:

  • Experience working within a grounds/horticulture/landscaping role;
  • The ability to work effectively on your own and as part of a small team;
  • A good eye for detail and pride in your work;
  • Experience managing your departmental costs working within a set budget; 
  • The ability to manage time and tasks working within the needs of the business;
  • Experience managing external contractors and booking in trade services as required;
  • A personable and professional disposition with the willingness to go above and beyond;

 

 Some of the skills we are looking for include:

  • Lawn and garden maintenance experience with the ability to operate garden machinery (ride on mower, whipper snipper, hedge trimmer, chain saw);
  • Basic electrical knowledge, (changing light bulbs, kitchen equipment);
  • Plumbing knowledge (bathroom repairs);
  • Basic carpentry skills (ability to fix doors, hinges);
  • Basic paintwork skills (painting of walls to refresh rooms);
  • Outdoor Pool & Spa Knowledge (ability to test pools daily, add chemicals as required, understanding of pool pumps and systems);
  • Knowledge and understanding of basic mechanics – motor vehicles specifically;
