Surrounded by 5,000 acres of private natural refuge, Spicers Canopy is an unrivalled eco-tourism experience less than 2 hours' drive from Brisbane. Along with Spicers Canopy you will be responsible for luxury cabins that are used by the Scenic Rim Trail walks and mountain bike products.

The opportunity:
Spicers Scenic Rim Trail has a full time opportunity available for a General Manager. This role will be responsible for establishing the Scenic Rim Trail as the must-do Great Walk of Australia while ensuring guest safety and ecologically sustainable work practices at all times.
The role is also responsible for
Overseeing the success of the 2 Day and 5 Day walking experiences;
Establishing and executing all processes (e.g. work practices, evacuation protocols, skills certification, consumable ordering, reporting obligations, etc) and creative content (e.g. interpretation, track direction, etc)
Providing leadership for the Spicers Canopy Manager (who will oversee the 2 Day experience in addition to other Spicers Canopy experiences)
Establishing a common pool of staff (e.g. housekeeping, drivers, guides, etc) to draw upon
Staff rostering
Overseeing the financial results of the walking product (including the execution of financial practices such as monthly stocktakes and frequent financial reporting)
Ensuring compliance with the Scenic Rim Management Plan (both Federal and State versions)
Asset management (i.e. maintenance and physical security)
Ensuring the specific skills can be transferred to other Eco-Active experiences as required (e.g. Head Chef can create menu plans for Bush Camp products, contract chef can provide services to other Bush Camp locations, etc)
Dealing with any HR issues associated with the operations (in conjunction with Spicer's HR team)
The Scenic Rim Trail General Manager will be required to work when guests are on track but will be supported by the Spicers Canopy Manager, Head Chef and Guide Leader as part of the team that it will supervise.
